There was a new release put out by WordPress.org today due to a potential security exploit for anyone that downloaded v2.1.1 within the last 3 or 4 days.

While I had downloaded and installed v2.1.1 more than 3-4 days ago, I have opted to go ahead and update my site to the latest version to try and avoid any potential problems. As such, I would welcome feedback from everyone if you encounter any problems with the website or see anything out of the ordinary.

If you are running v2.1.1 of WordPress, I would highly recommend that you visit their site and perform the upgrade as soon as possible. Feel free to drop me a note if you have any questions.

Did you notice that Firefox’s Spell Check is working in Wordpress 2.1.2’s Rich Text Editor again?!

I don’t use the rich text editor or Firefox spell check so I did not notice those things. I’m sure that will make quite a few people happy though!

Pretty crazy that there is already a security flaw, but luckily they were quick on the draw to get it fixed and let us all know.

Even luckier is how fast the WordPress community is at spreading the word!

It is good to see how quickly the WordPress community shares news of an update and offers guidance to others in getting updated. I think that is one of the many positive features in the open-source arena.

That’s very true! Whenever I have an issue with a plugin or theme, there’s always a handful of people willing to help - it’s fantastic!

Saman, I thought I would alert you that your site appears to be down as I am getting 500 errors when I try to access your site.

No problem. If there is anything I can do to help out, don’t hesitate to ask.
