Birthday Bash of Personal Finance

This week my post on tips to establish financial security has been included in the Carnival of Personal Finance being hosted at Stock Market Beat.

Quality Information.
As I am sure you are well aware, these finance blog carnivals include numerous quality posts that can provide you with very valuable information or advice on a variety of financial topics. This carnival certainly meets that requirement with a long list of quality posts on many different aspects of debt and money management.

Thanks to Stock Market Beat for hosting a quality carnival and presenting everything in a fun manner. Be sure to take some time to review the list of posts this week as there are some real gems.

Here are a few of my favorite posts from this latest carnival:

Mind Your Pennies.
The Frugal Duchess discusses pennies and finance and provides three reasons why pennies matter. As someone that faithfully believes that if you mind your pennies the dollars will follow, I enjoyed this post.

Money Decisions.
My Financial Awareness has a nice post about when there isn’t enough money to get what you want. When I graduated college, I used to resort to option one but eventually learned that option three was where I needed to be. Very nice post!

Use Your Money.
Extreme Perspective has some very interesting thoughts on using your money. It is nice to look at money from a different perspective and this post stimulated some alternative ideas for me.

Savings Snowball.
As a big believer in the use of a debt snowball, Blunt Money’s post on a savings snowball was right on for me. When we eliminated our consumer debt, we began to use our debt snowball as our savings snowball. It is amazing how quickly your money can accumulate when you are not shooting yourself in the foot with consumer debt.

Think Outside the Box.
The Coin Jar presents how a woman’s good financial sense lead to a windfall. This post demonstrates that sometimes making a difficult decision can lead to substantial financial gain. While not everyone will reap similar windfalls, it certainly provides some food for thought the next time you face a financial decision.

Enjoy this carnival and as always, be sure to come back and share with me which posts you enjoyed the most!

Wow, money management seems like it can take over your life. I think there is a better way to do this naturally.

@JR: To be honest, I think once you have learned the basics of money management, things can be more on auto-pilot where you don’t even have to think about it.

It can take some time to get to that point though. What did you have in mind about a better way?

I know we’re all about sharing ideas here but for the sake of time I’ll just say that I”m in the belief money is a tool. Not the keeper of happiness although it can make things better.

Alot of my beliefs about money are rooted in the laws of attraction. The way you think is the way you live.

Having a “lack” mentality, like you’re missing something or you better get this or else…, leads to corruption, even on a grand scale like corrupt governments. Why do leaders of nations go so far to take??

An abundance mentality says there’s always more. You dont’ need to get this or that right now. And even futher yet, the principle of giving does give more to manage. It’s proven, and even very affluent people know this princple to be true.

But in the end, the wealth of the wicked is layed up for the righteous. So, generations that horde will only save it up for generations that use it. No biggy! 😉 It’s cool.

@JR: I would agree with you that money is a tool and I don’t think I have given the impression that I think otherwise but let me know.

I agree with you that money can make some things better, or easier to deal with, but it will not guarantee you happiness. Money can certainly consume you to the point where it damages your life.

I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts.

MNC, by no means did you give me the wrong impression. I like what you do and praise you for your hard work. Keep up the great work!!

We both know luck has nothing to do with working your ass off for the success you have. You can see it on this blog, way to go! 😀
